In a heartfelt address at the Reality Arts Fair for Special Needs Children, held at the Peace Star Hotel in Konta on December 3, 2025, Hon. Charles Lwanga Pouzuing Esq, the Upper West Regional Minister, championed the importance of inclusion and creativity for children with disabilities. The event coincided with the commemoration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, emphasizing the theme “Inclusive Creativity: Breaking Barriers.”
Hon. Pouzuing commended the Asmaa Iddrisu Impact Foundation for its unwavering commitment to uplifting special needs children, aligning with the Government of Ghana’s vision of leaving no child behind. He highlighted that every child, regardless of their abilities, deserves visibility and opportunity, and emphasized that creativity should be accessible to all.
The Minister detailed the government’s initiative to enhance inclusive education, improve disability-friendly infrastructure, bolster social protection mechanisms, and eliminate stigma surrounding disabilities. He acknowledged the crucial role of educators, caregivers, and families in fostering a supportive environment for these children, urging continued dedication to nurturing their unique talents.
As he celebrated the creativity of children with special needs, Pouzuing reiterated the need for collaboration among various stakeholders to create a model of inclusive development in the Upper West Region. He encouraged everyone to engage with the artistic expressions showcased during the fair and support the children on their journeys.
Concluding his address, Hon. Pouzuing called for a collective commitment to building a Ghana where every child is valued and every talent nurtured, heralding a brighter, more inclusive future for all.
