A New Dawn for Healthcare in the Upper West Region

In a historic event held in the Daffiama-Bussie-Issa District, the Upper West Region officially inaugurated a new Community Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound, thanks to the generous support of the Japan Embassy (JE). The ceremony, led by Madam Hajia Pognaa Fati Issaka Koray on behalf of Hon. Charles Lwanga Puozuing Esq., The Upper West Regional Minister, highlighted the facility’s vital role in advancing community health and well-being.

This new CHPS compound symbolizes hope and progress, reinforcing the connection between health and sustainable development. It aligns with Ghana’s commitment to improving healthcare access, particularly for mothers and children.

Madam Koray called for local ownership to ensure the compound’s long-term success, emphasizing collaboration among the Upper West Regional Coordinating Council, the Ghana Health Service, and the District Assembly to set a standard for community healthcare excellence.

This partnership exemplifies the impact of collaborative efforts in enhancing dignity and human rights. We invite all stakeholders to join us in fostering a healthier future for our communities.
