The Upper West Regional Minister, Hon. Charles Lwanga Puozuing Esq., has called on stakeholders to convert the Region's rich potential into bankable investments that create jobs and improve livelihoods. Speaking at the Upper West Regional Investment Forum at Dellagio Hotel in Wa, he said the Region's natural resources, agricultural strengths, cultural heritage and enterprising people must now be matched with viable projects, infrastructure, financing and access to markets. He urged Municipal and District Assemblies to take ownership of local economic development by identifying their comparative advantages, prioritising realistic projects and engaging the private sector. He stressed that women and young people must benefit directly from investment. The Minister also called on the Regional Coordinating Council and the Assemblies to strengthen coordination, promote transparency and ensure predictable administrative processes. He acknowledged the vital role of traditional authorities in building trust and mobilising communities. "Our people deserve results, not promises that remain indefinitely on paper," he said, challenging organisers to end the Forum with a prioritised list of investment opportunities, designated focal persons and a mechanism for tracking progress. Inviting investors and development partners to look beyond the challenges, he assured them that the Upper West Region is ready to engage, collaborate and contribute to Ghana's broader development aspirations. The Forum was organised by the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre in collaboration with partner institutions.
